Dr. María de Lourdes Tejeida Bautista

Medical Director and Founder Mitigare Cares Palliatives AC

Dr. María de Lourdes Tejeida Bautista is a medical specialist in bioethics, with extensive experience in palliative care and public health. He was born in Mexico and has dedicated his professional career to improving the quality of life of patients with serious and advanced diseases.


He trained at the Bioethics Research Institute of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, where he obtained his specialization. In addition, he has training as a doctor in palliative care in oncology at the FES Iztacala of the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a master's degree in public health and health administration from the National Institute of Public Health.



Dr. Tejeida Bautista has also obtained a diploma in thanatology and has been trained by the ELNEC program on several occasions. She is founder and medical director of the Civil Association "Mitigare, Cares Palliatives AC", in addition to having been founder and coordinator of the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Felipe G. Dobarganes General Hospital in San Miguel de Allende, Gto.

Dr. Tejeida Bautista has been leader of the dissemination program of the Advance Directive Law at the General Hospital of San Miguel de Allende, Dr. Felipe G. Dobarganes and has been president of the Hospital Bioethics Committee at that same hospital. In addition, he has been state leader of the ECHO Guanajuato group, which addresses topics such as palliative care, universal vaccination, chronic degenerative diseases and maternal health.

Currently, she works as Head of the State Department of Disease Control at the Institute of Public Health of the State of Guanajuato since February 2017. She has also been a guest teacher in various diploma courses on bioethics, palliative care and advance directives and has taught classes in postgraduate courses at the University of Guanajuato and the Anáhuac University in Querétaro.

Dr. Tejeida Bautista is a member of various associations, including the Latin American Association of Palliative Care, the International Association of Palliative Care and Hospice and the Medical College of San Miguel de Allende, Gto. In addition, he is a founding member of the Mexico Palliative Care Group, Guanajuato Section.
